Life at the University of Teesside
Here we have a special gallery dedicated to my three years of university. First of all we shall take a look at life in Parkside East during my first year there. Next we shall examine Portman Street my home for the second year of university and my currenthome during the third and final year. These galleries will be added to and updated on a regular basis so be sure to return!
Parkside East
This first section looks in detail at Parkside East, the University halls and houses where I lived during my first year at university with Jamie, Kemp, Doco, Johnny and Ben. This year was definately an eye opener and a nice way to break into university and Middlesbrough life. I met and became very good friends with Joe and Adam and did many group project in the first year of business studies with them. Special thanks to TeessideAnth as well. Aled was also a regular visitor who helped me produce the 'Parkside East' DVD, which provides and initmate and plain wierd insight into life in the houses. Below are some of the best photos from the year. Photographers: Stephen Marsh, Aled Buttrey, Nicola Vane, Ben Adams and Julie Mableson. I couldn't have produced this gallery without your help! Anyone who would like more information, or would like to contribute pictures please feel free to email me: [email protected]
Portman Street
Portman Street year 2
My god...if I thought year 1 was an eye opener then year 2 definately was. What can I say...you can never know what someone is truly like until you have lived with them. I had the pleasure in year 2 of meeting, living with and getting on very well with Jonathan Bowe. Meanwhile, Ben was trying to convince the world he could drive and was slowly turning nocturnal. University work was becoming more and more challenging for me Joe and Adam, and we had to give several presentations and hand in plenty of group work. Aled also learnt several valuable lessons in pyrotechnics. I also had several brilliant trips out with Teesside lads while living at the house to such elaborate locations as: York, Peterborough, Norfolk, Eastleigh and Long Marston to name a few. All in all year 2 was probably about the same as the first year, and definately provided some essential life experience, and showed me that a lick of paint does not cover up greater problems such as the rot and mould in the house, and theres a few landlords that could do with knowing that as well. Anyway below is a photo gallery of my second year of university. Photos were taken by: Stephen Marsh, Julie Mableson, TeessideAnth, Jonathan Bowe and Aled Buttrey.
101 uses for a broken fan heater
During the second year, Ben's fan heater mysterioulsy stopped working. While it was waiting for some TLC from Ben, we decided that because it posed an environmental hazzard, due to the amount of power it uses, we would find new and environmentally friendly uses for it that did not involve it being switched on. We didn't get enough time to come up with 101, but below are the ideas we did come up with. Many thanks to Aled Buttrey, Natasha Bond and Jonathan Bowe for their help making this.
Year 3...final year!
Well well well m'dears! I can't believe it has come to the final year already. How the last few years really have flown, it doesn't seem like yesterday since I was moving into Parkside. Still, here we are. The third year is noticably different from the last two years in that the workload has massively increased, which was noticable within the first week back. Poor Joe was forced to re-take his second year, leaving me and Adam to crack on with the dissertation and groupwork. However, despite all this massive workload, I still found time for plenty of leisure activities, including some massive drinking sessions with TeessideAnth, big trains and little trains. After this year its out into the big wide world, the who knows what, anything could happen....
